WORK EXPERIENCE:

Copy Cataloger II. Georgetown University Lauinger Library. August 1979-Present.
My current position as copy cataloger has a solid twenty-eight year experience in a position that has evolved in complexity in responsibilities including:

• Cyrillic language materials such as Russian.
• Semitic language materials such as Hebrew and Arabic.
• Audio-visual formats and electronic materials.
• Minimal level bibliographic description of Georgetown University masters theses.
• Kennedy Institute of Ethics Library materials.
• Processing added volumes, added copies, replacements, discards, bibliographic record corrections and enhancements.
• Copy cataloging and some original cataloging of Special Collections materials
• Massaging and extraction of metadata for the creation of MARC records for Georgetown University electronic masters theses.

Cataloging internship/practicum at the Library of Congress, May-July 2005.
I worked on the First Editions Music Project evaluating first edition music scores and providing enhanced bibliographic records to the Library of Congress Voyager database from the OCLC and RLN bibliographic utilities. I also did some original cataloging in this project. Both bibliographic description and subject analysis were required in this project along with authority work thus providing access to library patrons.

Student Assistant. Georgetown University Lauinger Library. August 1978-August 1979. Did acquisitions work for the Arabic Materialist Specialist and the Acquisitions Department.
