MAJOR ACCOMPLISHMENTS


Coordinated library instruction classes, prepared advanced classes and conducted classes in online searching and database selection. Assisted faculty, students and college administration in advanced research. Developed training sessions for professional and support staff to provide basic reference services, conduct reference interviews and utilize electronic resources. Established a tiered reference service. Monitored the library web page and electronic mail reference service. Assisted in collection development at the Paul Harvey Library.   Completed a sabbatical during the summer of 1995 in the Reference Department of the O’Neill Library of Boston College. Program presenter on the best access to consumer health information for the New Hampshire College and University Council’s Bibliographic Instruction Workshop 2000.

Certified Library School Media Specialist  Fall 2005- present

Administered the high school library. Heavily weeded the collection and purchased new fiction and non fiction for independent reading classes. Purchased online databases such as Britannica, Choices, Student Resource Center and Nettrekker. Assisted students with research projects.


Trinity High School, Manchester NH

Certified Library School Media Specialist  Fall 2001- June 2005                                                                                   Administered the high school library. Set up the book collection and moved the collection to a new building. Bar coded the entire collection. Purchased online databases such as e- books, encyclopedias and original sources.  Conducted library instruction sessions for students in English, History, Science and Theology classes. Guided student book discussions.  Taught a course in online searching and the internet. 


Paul Harvey Library, Notre Dame College, Manchester NH

Public Services Librarian-September 1998 to 2001.

Managed the public services area of the college library, planning, evaluating, and implementing all policies and procedures relating to circulation, reference and interlibrary loans. Taught advanced library instruction sessions in Education, Physician Assistant Studies, Physical Therapy and Theology.

Worked in a part time capacity and performed various library services for undergraduate and graduate students.

Provided reference service to users. Furnished instruction in the use of the OPAC and other online reference resources. Developed an ability to handle complicated research questions.
