Info Career Trends - November 2000 Welcome Message

Welcome back to Info Career Trends! Since our inaugural September issue, we've grown to reach over 650 subscribers who are interested in furthering their own career development.

This jam-packed issue focuses entirely on writing for publication in the library environment. Print it out, pass it to your colleagues, and don't forget that Info Career Trends itself is always looking for authors! Please take a look at the upcoming themes and guidelines as you consider contributing to the profession by writing for publication.

Inside, you'll find that several editors give readers the benefit of their experience: Mary E. Johnson provides tips gleaned from her years writing and editing for such publications as Behavioral and Social Sciences Librarian, and Info Career Trends interviews Library Journal's WebWatch editor Norman Oder and ALA Editions acquisitions editor Tarshel Beards. Marisa Urgo and Rory Litwin discuss their respective experiences writing for a library trade publisher and producing an email newsletter, and Melanie C. Duncan writes about how her experience as a freelance book reviewer helped her become Library Journal's Christian Fiction columnist. Also find information on listservs, books, and web sites that can assist you as you develop your own voice writing for the library market.

For subscribe/unsubscribe instructions, see the bottom of this newsletter. I look forward to your ideas and comments - email me at editor@lisjobs.com. Interested in advertising? See the rate card.
