Info Career Trends - May 2004 Editor's Note
In a changing library environment, none of us can afford to remain professionally stagnant. We learn and grow throughout our entire careers. We incorporate our accumulated experiences and knowledge into our worklife and into our thoughts about our profession and where it is headed. We remain open to learning through all of our experiences, whether formal or informal. Today's contributors discuss a variety of ways to engage in lifelong learning, from taking classes, to earning another degree, to getting involved in professional organizations. Use their ideas as a springboard, finding the best mix of opportunities for yourself. Meanwhile, consider helping yourself and others continue their own education by writing an article and sharing your own experiences and ideas with your fellow librarians, information professionals, and library workers. Send your queries to editor@lisjobs.com. Contributors are needed for two upcoming issues: Sept. 2004 ("Presenting Yourself Professionally") and November 2004 ("Leadership"). Contributor guidelines are available. - Rachel
