Info Career Trends has Moved! / Call for Papers

* Please distribute widely *

Info Career Trends has MOVED:

Just a note that Info Career Trends, LISjobs.com’s free electronic professional development newsletter, is winding down the year and celebrating the season with a few changes:

First, individual articles are now online at the new Info Career Trends blog. This means a new RSS feed: feeds.feedburner.com/InfoCareerTrends, so please update your subscriptions. But also, and more importantly, it means YOU now have the ability to comment on articles and add your own ideas and input.

The Library Career People column you know and love is also changing over to a blog format in order to facilitate communication and to provide more timely answers to questions. Q&A columns will no longer appear in their entirety in this newsletter, but will be replaced by highlights from recent blog posts and conversations. Subscribe to the Library Career People blog separately at feeds.feedburner.com/CareerQaWithTheLibraryCareerPeople.

Writers are needed for the following two issue themes:

November 2007 - Job Hunting. Possible topics include: interview tips, broadening a search, tips for resumes and cover letters, remaining positive, factors for success -- or come up with your own!

Articles in ICT are short (around 1000 words), nonacademic, and practical. Please send a query e-mail to editor@lisjobs.com saying which issue you're interested in writing for and briefly outlining your proposed topic.

Book reviewers are also needed for the following two titles:

Evans & Ward, Leadership Basics for Librarians and Information Professionals - TAKEN
Wood, Miller & Knapp, Beyond Survival: Managing Academic Libraries in Transition - TAKEN

Please e-mail editor@lisjobs.com saying which title you're interested in reviewing and briefly outlining why you're a good person to do so.

Newsletters and Spam

Just a note -- for any of you all who have subscribed to LISjobs.com's Info Career Trends newsletter via an AOL or Yahoo! Mail account, apparently the last couple of issues (at least, sigh) have been blocked. I'm in the middle of an escalating incident report with AOL, but meanwhile, do feel free to read the online version, subscribe to the RSS feed, or unsubscribe and resubscribe with an alternate address. Thanks, and sorry for the inconvenience!
