 We are seeking qualified applicants for the full time position with benefits of Director of Library Services for the Library Department. This position will:

· Plans, implements and administers all library resources and services for students, faculty and staff on the main campus and for distributive learning. 

· Implements a clear and concise strategic plan for the library that promotes the mission of the university and library and enhances continuous improvement.

· Regularly evaluates and assesses the effectiveness and efficiency of library
services.  Informs administration of the library's strengths and weaknesses in meeting university needs and accreditation standards.

· Sets priorities and budgets for the collection for all library resources including
print, media and electronic resources that support the curriculum.

· Supervises library cash handling activities in compliance with university procedures and system policies.

· Participates in the accreditation process. Compiles statistical data and writes reports.

· Supervises and manages the physical library facilities, in cooperation with the Director of Facilities Planning, to ensure that facilities are safe, accessible,
effective, efficient and inviting.

· Exercises line responsibility for supervision, recruitment, retention, and professional development of all library personnel.

· Works with the Library Circulation Committee to set high level procedural guidelines as a framework for circulation policies in line with best practice and University policies.  

· Works with the Technical Services Committee to set procedural guidelines for technical services such as cataloging, periodicals, course reserves and processing and mending materials.

Coordinates with Reference and Technical Services Coordinators and other university departments to implement and maintain all digital library services such as databases and the library website; administer and update electronic services and the integrated library system; and coordinate software, hardware and technical support needs with vendors, consortia and the Chief Information
Officer

 

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: A Master’s Degree in Library Science or Library and Information Science from a graduate program accredited by the American Library Association. Minimum of five (5) years of experience in an academic library setting including at least two (2) years of supervisory experience in increasingly responsible positions
