The University of Texas at San Antonio Libraries is seeking an Instructional Designer to provide instructional and program design expertise for the development and support of academic courses, specialized educational programs, and staff and faculty training and development.
Working with Teaching and Learning Center, subject matter experts and staff in the Learning Technology, the position will provide support in online lessons' design and development. The position will design and supervise production of learning resources in a variety of formats. Supporting the library online instruction will require a creative approach to produce beta lesson skeletons and include outlining videos content; researching other sources to help in the creation process, facilitating internal and external communication to brainstorm different options, scripting video or activity designs and seeking approval from SMEs and others (if necessary) before starting production of learning resources.
Qualifications & Experience: Required: Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a minimum of two years experience working with online course design and development. Extra education may be substituted for the required experience. Experience working with Learning Management Systems (LMS), such as Blackboard, WebCT, Moodle, etc. Working knowledge of HTML, as well as other popular Web design formats. Knowledge of current trends and best practices in instructional software, Web 2.0/social media multimedia applications and web-based educational technologies. Ability to work in a team environment. Evidence of creativity. Excellent communication skills. Ability to work on a variety of tasks simultaneously.
Preferred: Master's degree from an accredited institution. Experience working with HTML and CSS. Experience with online authoring software and editing and developing multi-media through current software applications e.g. Dreamweaver, Premier, Captivate, Storyline and After Effects, Photoshop, applications from Adobe Master Collection, etc. Experience providing instructional and program design expertise for staff and faculty training and development. Experience working with faculty, training coordinators, program coordinators and subject matter experts in course design and development.
Salary: $41,976 (flexible, depending on qualifications). This is a full-time benefits-eligible position.
