Acquisitions Librarian

Capital University is seeking a dynamic, creative,
self-directed individual as Acquisitions Librarian, who will report to the
Technical Services Librarian.
Primary roles and responsibilities:
- Manages Innovative Interfaces Acquisitions and Serials
modules.
- Coordinates and manages purchasing through YBP,
Emery-Pratt, Midwest Tape, and other vendors.
- Works with vendors and Capital University employees to
gather, organize, and evaluate acquisitions data for electronic, print,
and non-print materials in Blackmore Library.
- Works with the Business and Finance Office and
Provost’s Office to ensure that the III Millennium funds management
coordinates with the University financial accounting systems, and that
purchase requests and requisitions comply with University fiscal policies.
- Collaborates with faculty, staff, and students to
ensure that library resources being purchased meet the evolving needs of
the University community, and that these resources are inventoried and
organized effectively.
- Supervises Technical Services Assistant in the
performance of Acquisitions and Serials clerical duties.
- Assists with Reference Desk services.
Qualifications:
- A MLIS or MLS degree from an ALA-accredited institution
is required.
- Previous professional library experience in a Technical
Services department is preferred.
- Familiarity with OhioLINK or other academic library
consortiums is preferred.
- Possesses excellent organizational, analytical,
interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience with the Innovative Interface Acquisitions
and Serials modules, along with experience ordering from a variety of
vendors, is highly desirable.
- Must be proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite.
