 Position Description 

Ex Libris is seeking a Proposal Writer who can describe the company's library management and discovery software in response to RFPs and other written inquiries.  The proposal writer will also coordinate the contributions of Ex Libris staff in sales, technical and implementation services, and contracts to develop a proposal that accurately and persuasively describes Ex Libris software and correlates it with the customer's criteria.  The Proposal Writer is also responsible for ensuring the final proposal is produced according to customer specifications and delivered to the customer by the required deadline. 

This position is based in either our Des Plaines, Illinois or Newton, Massachusetts office.

Competencies

The ideal candidate is an excellent writer and editor with a background or strong interest in libraries.  The candidate should be able to manage multiple projects in a deadline-driven environment. Other competencies include:

• Ability to understand the requirements of academic libraries
• Awareness of trends and issues in the library marketplace
• Excellent writing and editing skills
• Highly organized

Education and Training

• BA or BS required
• MLS or MLIS preferred
• Knowledge of proposal development and RFP/RFI processes a plus
