JOB OPENING: Library Director The Milken Community High School is a Jewish non-orthodox community day school in Los Angeles, California, serving 750+ students in grades 7-12. Milken Community High School is seeking an innovative and energetic librarian with vision and experience for a 21st century library. Job Duties: Administer and evaluate all library operations and personnel Develop or revise library policies and procedures Manage library budget Manage selection, acquisition, circulation and maintenance of materials and equipment Evaluate online resources and maintain library web page Plan and implement library curriculum Conduct instruction as part of library curriculum and as requested by teachers Report to the Upper School Principal and the Head of School on goals and progress Participate in Curriculum Committee as department head. Job Requirements: MLS or MLIS degree Expertise in information management, technology, information retrieval, librarianship and education. Facility with MARC cataloging, including online databases and interlibrary loan. Experience working with regional resource-sharing networks. Ability to work effectively in a collegial environment and with adolescents. Salary based on experience.
