LIBRARIAN III – SYSTEMS
Eustis Memorial Library is looking for a Systems Librarian with strong Integrated Library System (ILS) skills, excellent network management and organizational skills. JOB CHARACTERISTICS
Under direction, develops, implements and manages the library's information systems, including SirsiDynix Symphony Integrated Library System (ILS), authentication systems and electronic resources. This position assumes overall responsibility for the library's wireless configuration, public catalog interface and social media components. Work is performed independently according to prescribed procedures.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
· Implements library technology services;
· Administers the diagnoses and proofing of ILS software performance;
· Creates, reports and extracts data;
· Serves as principal contact in coordinating with SirsiDynix on software issues;
· Develops documentation on system operation and trains staff in use of system modules, as well as software applications;
· Provides statistical reports, as requested;
· Provides in-house reference service support and Online Public Catalog assistance for the public;
· Assists in planning and development of system policies;
· Administers proper maintenance and assures viability of ILS upgrades and databases;
· Assists in the planning and implementation of the Library's technology goals and objectives;
· Assists with the preparation, monitoring and maintenance of technology budget;
· Remains abreast of developments in the library profession by reading professional journals, attending workshops and conventions, as required;
· Speaks and serves as a liaison for civic, educational and other interested groups;
· Performs other related duties as required.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS (FOR ALL POSITIONS):
· Assists the City in the preparation for and aftermath of a major emergency such as a hurricane or other storm or disaster; other related duties as required.
REQUIREMENTS: Knowledge, Abilities and Skills
Knowledge:
Knowledge of the principles, practices and methods of library science; knowledge of modern English, spelling and mathematics; familiarity with library authentication systems; knowledge of MARC record formats and MARC bibliographic formats, as well as Unix/Linus operating systems; knowledge of current trends and issues in library systems and information technology and demonstrated skills in managing and developing systems.
Ability:
Ability to express oneself clearly and concisely in verbal and written form; ability to assemble, organize and analyze data findings and report them in the context of oral or written reports; ability to establish and maintain effective working, advisory and consulting relationships with community groups, public officials and professional colleagues; ability to remain at a city work shelter before, during and after a hurricane of other storm or disaster, if asked.
Physical Demands:
This is primarily sedentary work with some periods of light physical effort. Requires walking short distances; sitting for long periods of time; standing, reaching and bending; occasional lifting up to 35 pounds and occasional carrying/pushing/pulling up to 35 pounds; good finger/hand dexterity and hand/eye coordination; good eyesight, hearing and speech; driving a vehicle, as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Master's Degree in Library Science or Information Studies from an ALA accredited school and a minimum of two (2) years' experience in administering library systems and technologies. Experience with Unix/Linus operating systems required. Valid Florida Driver's License required.
Pay Range – $38,464 to $58,822 (DOQ); EXCELLENT benefits (Note: Benefit information is posted on city website at www.eustis.org, or call Human Resources at 352-483-5472).
