Integrated Library Systems Specialist

The Dayton Metro Library is seeking a fulltime Integrated Library Systems Specialist at our downtown Main Library.

Job Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Assistant Director for Information Technology Services. Responsibilities for this position include:  Ensures the efficient operation of the integrated library applications software. Directly manages of the library's Polaris system, including analyzing problems, making recommendations and developing solutions.  Serves as primary contact with vendor.  Supports staff users of the Polaris system. Works with staff to promote good service to patrons through use of the circulation, reference, cataloging and acquisition functions.  Directly manages third party software integrated with Polaris for enhanced patron service. Prepares and implements software upgrades. Supports users at libraries in the consortium who share the system.

Job Qualifications:  Knowledge of integrated library systems management.  Experience with the Polaris system a plus and also Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio.  Broad knowledge of circulation, reference, cataloging and acquisitions procedures and standards.  Experience with database management and web programming including familiarity with HTML, SQL queries, ASP, Windows Server 2008. Ability to work with various constituencies and aid in collaborative efforts involving the integrated library system. MLS (preferred) or its equivalent in education and experience is required.

Salary: $39,416-$45,073 plus excellent benefit package.
