The Old
Bridge Public Library seeks a Library Intern to join our team. This is a
position for someone with a sense of humor, strong customer service skills, and
the ability to think outside the “box”. You will gain valuable on-the- job
experience while working under the direction of our professional librarians in
a multicultural community that loves its public library.
Responsibilities
include: staffing the Adult & Information Services Desk, innovative programming,
reader’s advisory, and collection development.
This
position requires current enrollment in an ALA accredited library school,
strong interpersonal skills, a demonstrated commitment to public service, and
demonstrated knowledge of computer applications including Microsoft Word,
online catalogs, and database searching. The ideal candidate will have at least
one year before the completion of their degree.
The Library
requires that a criminal background check be performed before a job offer can
be made. The 18 hour work week will include at least 1 evening per week, some
daytime hours and every other Saturday. Additional on-call hours may be
available. Salary is $18.18 per hour. For more information about the library, visit
