The Public Services Librarian, who is appointed by the President upon the recommendation of the Vice President for Academic Affairs and the Director of the Library, reports to the Director of the Library. The Public Services Librarian is self-motivated and works in a collegial environment that supports central goals of service and outreach in an environment with a firm commitment to the College's information literacy initiatives. This Public Services Librarian will . Oversee day-to-day operations and services of the Curriculum Materials Library & Technology Center on the Rutherford campus; . Work collaboratively with the faculty of the Division of Teacher Education and in concert with its Dean, as well as with the Division of Business and Management Sciences and in concert with its Dean; . Provide leadership in the delivery of general and specialized instructional and reference services for the Teacher Education and Business & Management Sciences; . Serve as liaison for collection development and instruction to Teacher Education and Business & Management Sciences; . Manage growth, development and change within the Curriculum Materials Library & Technology Center, with particular emphasis on establishing it as an interactive information center; . Manage the collection in assigned areas in the circulating and reference collections of the main library on the Lodi campus; . Develop an annual budget request; . Plan and implement a series of outreach initiatives; . Supervise library assistants, the Library Manager, and student employees. QUALIFICATIONS Required: . ALA-accredited Master’s degree in library or information science . Demonstrated teaching experience at the K-12 grade level . Working knowledge of children’s literature and education materials . Ability to contribute positively to a collaborative environment . Strong computer skills . Strong written and oral communication . Willingness to support and uphold the college's Catholic/Franciscan tradition and mission Preferred: . Advanced degree in education . Library instruction experience, preferably in an academic setting . Supervisory experience .
