I have been a science librarian and a school librarian but would like to learn more about becoming metadata literate. I see quite a few job postings with that header and have looked around for training (Dublin Core?, Fedora?, etc.) The local graduate library program did not have any leads for just a certificate program. OCLC has some short courses, but I think I need more than that. Can anyone guide me on further training either online or onsite somewhere? thanks

I'm not sure about certificates, but NISO regularly has free webinars (archived online) at niso.org on metadata-related topics, as well as in-person courses around the country. ALCTS also has a networked resources and metadata interest group; you might contact them to see if they could point you in the direction of something more comprehensive. Their blog: http://blogs.ala.org/nrmig.php has summarized past metadata-related programs (ALA conferences etc.) so you might subscribe to that as well.
