Hello!
I'm in the process of working on a book focusing on collaboration between school and public libraries. I'd like to create an article for School Library Journal focusing on this issue as well, either just before the book comes out or just after.
Has anyone written for SLJ, and if so, do you have an pointers for working with them, or what the experience was like? I haven't done any research yet, and will once the book is done. I just wanted to get a feel from someone who has written for them.
Thanks!

If you already have a publisher for your book, it is possible that they may want to use an excerpt from your ms as an article in one of *their* magazines.

You might also want to check with your publisher's marketing department to let them know about your idea for an article - this is a great way to drive book sales, and they might be able to help you work with SLJ.
Also, most publications work months in advance planning their editorial calendars so, for example, if you wanted to have an article go live in June, you'd probably want to be pitching your article proposal about now.
