Hi everyone! I just discovered this forum today and am excited to be a part of the community! I think blogging is great way to participate in the library community, plus a great way to increase awareness of library services! I encourage anyone who is blogging to post a link to their blog here, as I LOVE to read library blogs. I myself am a library blogger - check out my blog at http://talkingbookslibrarian.blogspot.com/ and let me know what you think! More info about my blog: A blog about Talking Books and other great resources for blind or visually impaired persons. Find out what's happening in the world of libraries and Talking Books! The blog also includes information and resources of importance to educators and older adults, as well as those with disabilities, or those working with people who have disabilities. More info about me: I am a Talking Books Librarian. I love my job! I started a blog to help make people more aware of resources available for older adults and those with disabilities, as well as to promote the free Talking Books program by the Library of Congress! I encourage educators to become familiar with the resources listed in my blog and share them with others in the education community!

I had two blogs, but when one service was shut down I combined them into two. I found both audiences and many of my posts overlapped. I focus on materials relevant to engineering and science education & libraries. I also focus on anything library and web 2.0 related. e3 Information Overload. E-Resources for Engineering Education AND Are You 2.0 Yet? http://blog.case.edu/bcg8/I try to keep the categories very organized and each offers a RSS feed, so readers can be very focused in their readings. http://blog.case.edu/bcg8/categories

I'm not a professional librarian (yet, still working on that little detail,) but for the past year I've kept a blog, which has my reading list for the year (plus a few movies): http://ningerbil.livejournal.com/I also recently established an account through GoodReads, http://www.goodreads.com/review/list/ where I'm trying to keep a more comprehensive list of the books I've read. Thanks, Brian, for recommending this site!

I think this discussion area will add more than we can all gain from NewLib, NexGenLib, or school listservs. The environment and interactions are just different on a discussion forum where you can follow a thread and look back at people's earlier comments.
