Hi all!

I'm looking for some insight...let's say I've applied for a position at an academic library. Several weeks after I submitted my application package, another position opens at the same library. Does it look bad to apply for that position too? Assuming I meet the qualifications for both positions.

Any insight you have would be much appreciated!

I've never been in this situation myself, but everything I've ever read has said there is no problem with it, so long as you address the qualifications of each position separately. What I mean is, do not simply reuse the same cover letter, but really work on it to address the second position specifically. But I'm sure you knew that already....

I would not consider that a bad thing to do.
I had the same situation a couple of months ago and I got a phone interview for one position in that same institute.
