Library Worklife asked me to post this call for contributors -- please respond to them, not me :)

ALA-APA is currently seeking article submissions for Library Worklife on the following subjects: career advancement, certification, human resources practice, pay equity, recruitment, research and work/life balance. Published monthly, LW is received by thousands of American Library Association (ALA) institutional members and individual subscribers.

Library Worklife is the channel for library workers, administrators and the public who are seeking change in the way our profession is defined, viewed and treated. Regard it as a community publication, as multi-faceted in its purpose as its audience, revealing similarities and differences between the work lives of workers in all types of libraries, showcasing individuals/institutions/programs that have a positive impact on the professional lives of library workers, and educating about theories and trends that challenge current HR notions and practices. LW is sent electronically each month on the second Tuesday to subscribers and abstracts of each article are available on the ALA-APA website. For more information, please visit our the submissions page of the ALA-APA website.

We would enjoy reading any proposal you might submit. Best of luck with future endeavors, and we look forward to your response!

Terrific publication to write for because 1) gives you visibility and credibility among a large group of primarily public library managers and directors, and 2) the ALA-APA staff is delightful to work with. - Kim

May I ask why you think the readership can be described as "a large group of primarily public library managers and directors"?

That was my understanding from my review of the articles posted, the nature of the topics focused on, and ALA-APA's mission statement. However, happy to have a misimpression corrected - do you see a different audience for the publication? Important to correct my description if too narrow.

I do stand by my assessment of how delight the ALA-APA staff is to work with, however.

I would think with the topics around salaries and certifications that the audience might be (if not should be) much broader.
