CATALOGING LIBRARIAN
SALARY: $44,197 – $58,562 annually
BAND GRADE: C42
HOURS: Full-time. Must be able to work weekdays and evenings as well as occasional Saturdays and Sundays.
REQUIREMENTS:
ALA accredited MLS; two years of experience in a library, including one year of cataloging & supervisory experience; familiarity with current information technologies and emerging formats.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
The Cataloging Librarian position is responsible for developing and managing traditional and non-traditional bibliographic access and control processes that support the collections and services of a Dewey Decimal based library system with a $3.8 million materials budget. This position is responsible for original cataloging and metadata creation within the library’s current online access environment; which includes Horizon, a faceted browser (Aquabrowser), and WebFeat; of increasing importance is facilitating discovery and use of non-print information and resources. The Cataloging Librarian plays a key role in the dynamic day-to-day management of customer-focused cataloging, selection, acquisitions, receiving, processing, weeding and interlibrary loan of library materials under the direction of the Materials Management Division Director.
