I am considering a career change and may apply to a graduate program in the NYC area. Right now, I'm gathering information, visiting local schools, and applying to volunteer positions in a museum, special library, or cultural institution.

I would appreciate thoughts or advice on any of the following:

a. If you are a librarian at a museum or cultural institution or special library, what are your credentials?
b. Been through the dual program at either Pratt or Palmer/NYU or at another institution? Tell me about your experience. What career path have you taken?
c. If you've been through a dual masters program in library science and art history, did it opened doors *wider* for you?
d. Is a masters plus an advance certificate program a better route to go?

I welcome anyone to email or PM me, if they have information they'd like to share in confidence (for example, they didn't like their program, or you don't feel comfortable sharing your background details, etc.)

Thank you all!
