Librarian of the Holland SocietyThe Librarian is the chief operating officer of the Holland Society and it's Library. Reporting directly to the President, the Librarian works closely with the Society's officers and committee chairs. The Librarian's responsibilities include supervising the development and maintenance of the collections, training and overseeing the staff and volunteers, budgeting and monitoring expenditures, developing uses for computer technology, expanding library and Society resources through fundraising, soliciting gifts, the preparation of grant proposals, participating in the mounting of exhibitions and planning and implementing the Society's publications. The Librarian attends all Board and Committee meetings.
Requirements include: Graduate Library degree, equivalent graduate degree, or relevant experience. Five or more years of professional experience desirable, including supervisory, budget, and administrative responsibilities. Knowledge of historical and genealogical reference sources, research methods and computer applications. Knowledge of preservation techniques and security procedures. Demonstrated writing and speaking skills.

- Participating in the mounting of exhibitions
- Planning and implementing the Society's publications
- Overseeing the library and assisting visitors during public hours
Requirements include:
- Graduate Library degree, equivalent graduate degree, or relevant experience.
- Knowledge of historical and genealogical reference sources, research methods and database applications.
- Knowledge of preservation techniques and security procedures.
- “Customer Service” oriented personality with strong interpersonal skills.
- Five or more years of professional experience desirable, including supervisory, budget, and administrative responsibilities.
- Experience with Archives is also desirable.
