I'm overseas and a friend here is interested in getting an ALA-accredited degree. What are the accredited online programs that require no campus visits and can be asynchronously? If you have a notion of their cost, that'd be helpful too.
Thanks.

I'm a distance student at Syracuse University in Syracuse, NY, USA. It is an ALA-accredited MLIS program. There is a one time only residency requirement for one week the summer you begin the program and then everything else can be completed online. Tuition is currently at $1,069 per credit hour (Spring 2008). Erin DorneyOutreach Librarian, Millersville University LI: http://www.linkedin.com/in/erindorneyB: http://libraryscenester.wordpress.com/

This comparison chart of distance education programs might be useful, although I'm not sure how often they update it.

I am pretty sure the University of Missouri Columbia has an online 42 hour program with no campus time. I don't however know what the cost is.
