I have been accepted to UNT/SLIS for Fall, 2008 and will be in the first GA-Cohort. My plans at this point are to specialize in children's librarianship. The library school has a very good rating. I would love to hear from current students or grads from the program.

I know one guy who got his degree from there and he's a fabulous youth services librarian. I liked that there were some storytelling options and a good focus on YS librarianship. If only I'd known then...

I was awarded the UNT/IMLS/Emory scholarship for the Georgia Cohort. Although, I know it's a good opportunity, I feel that the contract is a little restrictive. E-mail me at skarim1@bellsouth.net if you want to discuss this scholarship.

I just graduated from the UNT program this past May! I really loved it. I do live in Texas but I am 6hrs from campus so I was considered a distance ed student. I did not have any trouble contacting the department or individual teachers for help or information. I would suggest you take Dr. Figa classes like storytelling or graphic novels. She is an amazing teacher. Just let me know if you have any other questions.
