World library association tour 2008
I’ve been on kind of a peripatetic library conference binge across the U.S. lately: Two weeks ago, I was at Internet Librarian in California. Last week, I was in Birmingham talking about “getting unstuck” to the southern chapter of MLA. (And, for no apparent reason, was serenaded by a bagpiper outside my hotel balcony for a good half hour!) Today, I’m in Wisconsin talking about “the cross-generational library workforce” at WLA, and on Monday I’ll be in Chicago to talk about alternative careers to the Chicago area SLA.
Then, we break til spring! But, seriously — it’s so much fun meeting librarians across the country and seeing how we’re all facing similar issues and finding creative solutions. If I’m speaking somewhere you happen to be, stop by and say hi.

(One of hubby’s fave jokes)
Q: What’s the difference between a bagpipe and an onion?
A: No one cries when you cut up a bagpipe.
