How (not) to respond to negative reviews

[Disclaimer: I haven't read this book, nor do I intend to.]

However, if someone wrote a blog post like this about one of my books, I don’t think this is the way I’d choose to respond. (Give it a minute, the comments get more … shall we say… pointed.)

Once the author made her initial comment she should have stayed away. Coming back meant throwing the book back onto the grill. Every … darn … time.

Couldn’t agree more. “I’m sorry that you didn’t like it” is quite enough comment from the author for a piece of fiction. Now if someone criticised one of my directories on the basis of presentation of the information I accept they didn’t like it. If I make a factual error in recording the information then I grovel — I DO NOT ARGUE! And arguing from such a weak base — yeuk.
Thanks for the example of what not to do!

I will probably skip reading this… Xtian fantasy is not high on my list of favorite things. I just wanted to thank you for pointing out that discussion. It was very highly entertaining: I’ve a fondness for obnoxious behavior in other people.

Happy birthday, btw. (Not a stalker; saw it on Facebook.)
