…. Long Live Genre Fiction

What is it with the little spate of literary snobbery lately? I guess the Internet really does give a platform to everyone. But really, the better question is, how can one not love Ursula K. LeGuin.

But wait, there’s more! Smart Bitches Who Love Trashy Novels also point to an Erica Jong Publisher’s Weekly article talking about the marginalization of fiction written by women… and give their take on it.

I had no idea genre fiction was dead.I have been reading corpses all this time? (Man, that sounds like the plot of some cool novel, btw). The snobs can take their attitude and put it where the sun doesn’t shine. I am sticking to my genres. Best, and keep on blogging.

The Reading Corpses also would make a great band name!

I’m trying to get my head around “genre fiction being dead” and our very alive circ figures. I’ll take the stats over the opinion.

I like that, the Reading Corpses. If not a band, certainly could be a blog title or something.

By the way, we just put in a small shelving area for leisure (genre) books. Its circulation numbers are steadily increasing. I guess a lot of reading corpses out there, haha.

    Best, and keep on blogging.
