Now, now, ladies. Don’t you know that “Nice Girls Don’t Get Rich?” I must admit that when my manager first explained that to be credible I had to charge the same as the competition, I too was stunned at the fees I could command with two internationally bestselling books and strong platform skills. But it’s taught me that most women undervalue what they’re worth and financially independence comes only when you get outside of your comfort zone. I would seriously be happy to just about 20% of what she gets… heck, maybe even 10%. I must say that the routine of speaking for “the honor” or “to give back to the profession” is wearing me a little thin these days.

I know I don’t have a Ph.D., but as a professional w/ nearly 2 decades of expertise in my field, it’s still insulting to see that she could match my highest annual salary with a few talks per year.
