Hi Rachel,
We are located in Walsenburg, Colorado, a small town in rural Southeastern Colorado and we are in the process of refurbishing a 1920's High School to become the new library. We have a lot of people in this area who want to know more about computers and related topics but we are unable to keep up with the current publications. With the new library soon to be opened (this fall hopefully) it would be a wonderful thing to have some fairly current material. Perhaps some books on Windows Vista, Open Source, IPods/MP3 players and MS Office programs would be really helpful. Regardless of the outcome, thank you for the offer. The library's address is:

Spanish Peaks Library
323 Main St.
Walsenburg, CO. 81089

Thanks you again,
John Thomas
Assistant Director

We are now completing the preparations for opening our new library in Lake Nebagamon, WI., which is in rural Douglas County. We hope to be open by June 1. We have collected thousands of donated books and will be receiving a collection from the Superior Public Library, but we have absolutely no computer books and any you can give us would be wonderful! We are operating on a small budget right now and most of our resources have been devoted to the physical preparation of our building. It is a great facility and the addition of your books would help our seniors and young people especially. We are located in downtown Lake Nebagamon at 11628 E. Cty. Rd. B.

Greetings, Rachel,
I am here at the Southwest Wisconsin Library System in Fennimore, WI, which is located about 70 miles from Madison. Our system staff members serve as consultants for 28 public libraries and 2 branches in a (mostly) rural area 5-county area.
We have a small Professional Reference collection which would benefit from an infustion of newer technology materials. In particular, our member libraries and their staff members would find the following categories of interest:
Microsoft Office Professional 2007 suite
Windows Vista Business
Photoshop
PHP, CSS
Thanks for this opportunity.

Hello,

What a wonderful offer!
We are in the process of our campaign for our first-ever library in Cottage Grove (pop. 5433) We have already collected over 7,500 donated books for the library. Because the Village Board is concerned about costs, especially operating costs, any help we can get will be greatly appreciated. The bottom line price of the library could be helped with some of your donated books!
The communities of the Village and Town of Cottage Grove have been involved in 3 surveys over the last 3.5 years. All of those surveys are very positive for wanting a library in this bed-room community to Madison.
We have a system for tracking all donated books. We have kept no computer books because of the age of those donated. We have businesses who will store the books until we have our library. You could make a difference for us! Even one box would help greatly!
Being we have no computer books, and without the help of a Library Director, I would say Windows Vista; Mac; PhotoShop; any books on search esp. genealogy, etc.
I hope this is helpful to you. I look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely, Diane Wiedenbeck, President, Cottage Grove Community Library Board
