Post Your Resume

Post your resume on LISjobs.com for a nominal fee to get it in front of employers browsing this site and to get yourself an online presence.

How to Post

Please note that posting your resume at LISjobs.com is not a free service. Do not request an account if you do not intend to pay. Do not email me your Word or PDF resume; you will upload this yourself once your account is created.

LISjobs.com is not an employment service and will not use your resume to place you in a position; your resume will merely be posted online at LISjobs.com and linked from its section for employers.

To post your resume, e-mail rachel@LISjobs.com to request an account. In your email, please include:

  1. Your name.
  2. The fact that you'd like to post your resume on LISjobs.com.
  3. Whether you would like your resume linked from LISjobs.com or prefer to keep the address private. (If you do not want your current employer to run across your resume and prefer to give out the address yourself, you will want to keep it private. If you want to increase the odds of employers accessing your resume and have it listed with the others and searchable on LISjobs.com, you will want to have it linked.)

Within two days, you will receive emailed instructions on uploading your resume. You can upload and make changes at any time; to post a new version of your resume, just upload it with the same file name and it will overwrite the older version. You can upload your resume in Word, HTML, and/or PDF format, each of which is searchable from LISjobs.com and from general search engines. (LISjobs.com cannot provide assistance converting your resume from Word to HTML.)

Please limit yourself to posting your resume and related files such as images, letters of recommendation, cover letters, and CSS stylesheets. Resume posting costs $10(USD) for 6 months, and you will be invoiced through email. (Payment may be made via personal check, money order, or PayPal. LISjobs.com does not accept credit cards at this time.)

You have the option of keeping your resume address private and unlinked, if desired. If you upload your HTML resume yourself and wish to keep it private, insert <meta name="robots" content="noindex, nofollow"> , into your header, which will tell most search engines not to index it. Your unlinked resume will also not be searchable on LISjobs.com. (LISjobs.com cannot provide technical support on creating your HTML resume or inserting meta tags into your files.)

Your resume will be posted for a six-month period and can be renewed at that time for a reduced renewal fee.

Why To Post

LISjobs.com is visited by employers as well as job seekers, and posting here gets your resume in front of hiring institutions. If you don't already have a positive online presence, this is a good place to start -- you want Googling employers to find information you deliberately put out there. Signing up for a resume account at LISjobs.com also offers you full control over the format and "look" of your resume, rather than the generic format produced by most resume databases: You can upload in Word, PDF, and/or HTML format, and can modify your own resume at any time.
